Helambu Trek -Helambu Valley

Helambu is a short trek close to Kathmandu and is a relatively low altitude trek that is ideal for all age groups and ability levels. The trek starts with a short but stunning drive from Kathmandu to Sundarijal. The trek takes place into the Shivapuri National Park and begins with a trek through the dense forest of the park until you reach Chisapani at 2,194 meters. From here ,the panoramic view of the Himalayan Mountains is breathtaking. From Chisopani, the trek continues to Langtang National Park with visits to the villages of Kutumsang,Tharepati,Melamchighyang,Tarkeghyang, Shermathang and Melamchipul Bazaar to experience the unique lifestyles of the highland people. The highest point on this trek is Tharepati-La Pass at 3,680 meters and is known to be covered in snow if you are trekking during the winter months. The final leg of the trek takes us to Melamchipul Bazaar, on the bank of the Indrawati River, from where a five hours drive to Kathmandu. The forests of Helambu region of Langtang National Park are a pristine example of temperate and sub alpine vegetation. The dense oaks , rhododendron ,dyfneys and pine forests on the trail lead the spectacular views will inspire you on this Himalayan adventure. The mountain views are awesome from Chisopani , Kutumsang ,Tharepati & Sermathang!
